Origin - Maheshwar Sarees & Fabrics originated at Maheshwar of Madhya Pradesh and known for its weaves in Boarder & Pallav designs derived from carvings, scriptures, paintings engraved on the walls of the Fort built by Queen Ahilyabai at Maheshwar. The weavers use ‘Double Box Slay’ looms to weave a delicate blend of silk and cotton yarn- made in tiny checks or stripes with a coloured border for last 200 years. The reversible border and the grandeur of the forts of the state and their designs on the pallu with inspiring & intricate designs are some the unique feature of the Maheshwari Saree.
